Absolutely delicious food!!! Can’t recommend trying this out enough. We ordered the chicken patia and chicken jalfrezi naga with garlic naan and plain rice. Service was fast and friendly. Brought our own drinks and the staff kept them refrigerated for us , came to the table with bottle opener, brought us take away dishes for the leftovers and hot towels to clean up. Probably the best curry Ive had in Bristol

Indian Empire offers a fantastic dining experience that blends authentic flavours with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. From the moment you walk in, the ambience sets the tone elegant mood lighting, creating a relaxed and intimate setting, perfect for both casual dinners and special occasions. The restaurant is impeccably clean, and the staff go out of their way to make you feel at home. The waiters are not only friendly but also knowledgeable, offering helpful recommendations without being intrusive. On the recommendation of our attentive waiter, I opted for the Chicken Saagwala with added potatoes, and it was a brilliant choice. The dish featured tender pieces of chicken cooked with finely blended spinach and aromatic spices. The addition of potatoes added a hearty, comforting element that balanced the dish beautifully. It paired excellently with the fluffy basmati rice and a wonderfully soft cheesy naan bread, which had just the right amount of gooey cheese without overpowering the other flavours To start, the poppadoms were crisp and fresh, served alongside a vibrant selection of chutneys and sauces. The standout was the mango sauce, sweet, tangy, and the perfect complement to the crunchy poppadoms. Portion sizes here are generous, offering great value without compromising on quality. Overall, Indian Empire holds its own among the best Indian restaurants I’ve visited, and I would confidently place it joint number one in and around Bristol, right alongside Black Cumin. If you're looking for authentic Indian cuisine served with care and flair, Indian Empire is absolutely worth a visit.

Went off the reviews. Wasn't disappointed. Opted for the tawa special which came with mushroom rice. Nice fresh ingredients. Generous portion. Would recommend. Bring your own alcohol.

Came here for an early evening meal as the ratings were very good - and it was brilliant. I was the first in but by 6 o’clock more and more people came in. I had to go out to get my beer to have with the meal as they don’t provide alcohol. I ordered papadums and then trout and sag bhaji with some chapatis which came out within 20 minutes and tasted excellent plus was a good amount too. The cost came to 25 which is very good value indeed. Came here again during the week and had a crab curry special which was excellent and the meal came to 43 for 2 people - great value for money.... Fully recommend.

Amazing addition to Portishead! I don't normally love spicy food and have never been able to enjoy a meal in an Indian restaurant because of that - this has changed now that I've found Indian Empire! The food is great and super fresh. We had starters, Tikka masala and the restaurant special korma (and the spice level was tailored to our request!!). I have tried several Indian restaurants before, but this is no ordinary Indian restaurant. Staff were lovely made us feel special. The environment was calm in a Friday evening. Good price and good portions (we even took some food home). The cleanliness was good as well, including toilets.
